Confession Time: The Kissing Booth Trilogy And Why I Keep Rewatching It!

Okay, confession time. You know those guilty pleasure movies we all secretly love but hesitate to admit? For me, *The Kissing Booth* trilogy is definitely one of them. I can practically hear the eye rolls, but hear me out before you judge!

I’ve watched the whole series so many times, I’ve literally lost count. And honestly, I don’t regret a thing. There’s just something about Elle Evans (played by the fabulous Joey King) that keeps pulling me back into the world of high school drama, forbidden romances, and, of course, kissing booths.

Why People Should Watch The Kissing Booth

Here’s the thing. The Kissing Booth is far from a cinematic masterpiece, but that’s precisely why it’s so damn entertaining. It's like a comfort movie you can watch after a long day when you just want to unplug and get swept up in something light and fun.

The storyline might seem familiar: Elle ( played by  falls for her best friend’s older brother, Noah (played by Jacob Elordi), while trying to navigate the ups and downs of friendship, first loves, and high school. But what sets it apart is Elle’s chaotic charm. She’s relatable in all the awkward, messy, and endearing ways. If you’ve ever been caught between loyalty to a friend and a budding romance, you’ll totally feel for her.

Plus, it’s impossible to deny the chemistry between Elle and Noah. Sure, they have their dramatic ups and downs, but isn’t that what makes these teen rom-coms so addicting? You get to root for them to figure things out, even if they fumble along the way.

Fun Fact Alert

Here’s a fun fact I bet you didn’t know: Joey King and Jacob Elordi actually dated IRL after meeting on the set of the first *Kissing Booth* movie! Talk about life imitating art, right? Unfortunately, they split before filming the sequels, which is wild because they had to keep portraying a couple. Imagine having to kiss your ex on set while keeping things professional. Wild, right?

Something Special for the Viewers

Now, I know what you might be thinking: *Why should I invest my time in this?* Well, aside from the rom-com goodness, *The Kissing Booth* has a surprising element that stands out—its emotional authenticity. The series doesn’t shy away from portraying the complexity of relationships, whether it’s the challenges of maintaining friendships or the reality of long-distance love.

In the second movie, *The Kissing Booth 2*, things get a little deeper. Elle and Noah have to navigate the tricky waters of a long-distance relationship, and Elle faces the arrival of Marco, yes *that* Marco—who threatens to throw a wrench in her romance with Noah.

This sequel offers some added drama and tension, with Elle caught between her feelings for Noah and the undeniable spark with Marco. Plus, the dance competition? Total highlight.

By the third movie, *The Kissing Booth 3*, Elle is at a crossroads, having to decide not just between love and friendship, but also her own future. She’s torn between choosing Harvard to be with Noah, or Berkeley with her best friend Lee. This final film wraps up the trilogy with all the emotional punches, showing the struggles of growing up and making those big life decisions. It’s more mature, and it definitely tugs at the heartstrings.

Also, the soundtrack is a vibe! You’ll find yourself Shazam-ing songs in the middle of a scene because it just hits you right in the feels. And, of course, if you’re a sucker for cute, over-the-top romantic gestures (like that airport scene), then you’re in for a treat.

A Scene I Can’t Forget

One of the standout scenes for me is from the first movie: the dance-off between Elle and Lee at the arcade. It’s such a quintessential Elle moment. She’s got this goofy, carefree energy as she dances her heart out, and it’s one of those scenes where you can’t help but smile. Plus, it sets the tone for their fun, quirky friendship, which is the heart of the whole series. The game becomes their safe space—a place where Elle can forget about all her complicated feelings for Noah and just be herself.

And then there’s the other side of the dance off. You know the one when Elle is hiding under the dance machine and overhears Noah warning guys off her. This is where we see the tension between Elle’s friendship with Lee and her feelings for Noah really come to a head. You feel her inner conflict as she realizes she’s falling for the one guy she’s been told is off-limits. It’s such a classic rom-com moment!

Final Thoughts

Here’s the thing: if you’re looking for a movie that’s full of fun, drama, and, yes, cringe-worthy-but-cute moments, The Kissing Booth trilogy has your back. Each film gives you something different: the first introduces that chaotic whirlwind of first love, the second dives into the struggles of long distance and temptation, and the third takes you on an emotional journey of growth and tough choices.

It’s the kind of trilogy where you laugh, cringe, and maybe even tear up a bit, kind of like life itself, but with more kissing booths. Plus, who doesn’t love a good best friend turned something more storyline?

So, grab some snacks, hit play, and prepare for some major Elle Evans-level antics. You might just find yourself rewatching it again (and again, and again… like I do).

Until next time, fellow movie addicts!
